Mission:
The Episcopal Counseling Center is an organization which seeks to empower individuals and families to achieve their highest level of mental, emotional, and spiritual wholeness through education, prevention and counseling. We uphold the idea that every person is made in the image of God, and therefore believe in the dignity and value of each individual.
Vision:
The Episcopal Counseling Center is a resource center for couples, families and individuals in need of counseling. It is the position of our staff that counseling and psychotherapy are important avenues for self exploration, improved relationships and emotional healing.
We acknowledge that spirituality is the ground in which all psychological dramas are experienced, and because of that our counseling center serves as a spiritual renewal center for individuals and families. It is not our purpose to evangelize our clients, but we are educated to work within the framework of our client's spiritual position and to respect their particular values.
Emphasizing the value of collaborative conversations, we share a respect for the client's own strengths and abilities, and their power of imagination and self healing. We are dedicated to making a positive and practical difference in our client's lives. We believe it is not the person who is the problem; instead, it is the problem that is the problem.
As Christians, we see this work as being a means by which persons may find a more meaningful and abundant life within themselves and in relationship with others. We see this as our calling within the salvific structure of the Church.
