Community Outreach - Cornerstone Assistance Network
During April, our focus in on the Cornerstone Assistance Network. Fundamental to Cornerstone programs and services is the belief that personal transformation requires more than just having one's physical needs met. Attention must be given to a person's "whole" being including his or her emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical state. It is their belief that any program or service that neglects one's moral and spiritual issues cannot offer long-term hope and life change.
Programs and services at Cornerstone fall into three service areas: Relief, Recovery, and Restoration.
We are seeking contributions of:
- Bibles (these are given to parolees as they maneuver out of prisons back into life outside of prison)
- Gently used children's shoes in all any/sizes (Cornerstone supports many homeless families and they are always in need of children's shoes)
- Large Paper or plastic grocery bags (these are used to distribute pantry items to those in need)
- Full sized shampoo, lotions, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste (these go to the needy who are setting up they first homes)
Please drop off your donations in the baskets at the front of the nave or in DeWolfe Hall.
